Season 4 Overview

Season 4 brought significant changes to the system mechanics — Roman Cancel recovery was adjusted, and several characters received sweeping buffs that reshuffled the tier list. Here's where things stand.

S-Tier

Happy Chaos continues to dominate the top of the list. His unique gun mechanic makes neutral completely different against him, and the Season 4 buff to his reload speed removed one of the few windows opponents had to close the gap.

Nago is a damage machine. Season 4 didn't touch him, and that means the rest of the cast is still trying to deal with Blood stacks, impossible-to-punish normals, and a throw game that leads to full combos.

Asuka — his spells were buffed in a way that makes his neutral footsies even stronger. If you don't have a fast, safe way to close distance, you're going to struggle here.

A-Tier

  • Ky Kiske — well-rounded and benefited from the RC recovery change; more forgiving to use now
  • Sol — unchanged, still a solid foundation character; slightly pressured by the new arrivals
  • Bridget — yo-yo pressure remains oppressive; slightly less explosive damage than S-tier
  • Leo — strong in the corner, weaker than before in open neutral

B-Tier

  • Ram — good buttons but her backdash got nerfed; loses some of her defensive neutral options
  • Goldlewis — tanky, high damage, requires excellent reads; very matchup-dependent
  • Faust — gimmick-heavy; effective at lower levels, increasingly readable at high level

C-Tier

  • Anji — reflect still useful in specific matchups, but his low damage output limits his ceiling
  • Zato — Eddie management is rewarding but expensive to learn; limited reward at average execution levels

The Big Picture

Season 4 tightened the spread between B and S-tier compared to previous seasons. You can realistically take any A-tier character to Celestial with solid fundamentals. S-tier is where you go if you want to take shortcuts.
