SF6 Tier List 2026 — Best Characters for Ranked
The definitive Street Fighter 6 tier list updated for 2026. S-tier to C-tier rankings, matchup notes, and which characters are worth your time in ranked play.
The Definitive SF6 Tier List (May 2026)
Street Fighter 6's roster has settled into a clear pecking order after two years of patches. This list is based on tournament results, matchup data from Capcom Pro Tour, and high-level ranked play.
S-Tier — Pick These to Win
Luke remains the defining character of the meta. His Drive Rush pressure is near-unreactable, his damage output is top-tier, and he's beginner-friendly enough to pick up fast while still having a very high ceiling. If you want results, start here.
Akuma arrived and immediately disrupted the tier list. His Raging Demon combo routes deal obscene damage off a single hit-confirm, and his fireball game makes neutral a nightmare for most of the cast.
Chun-Li rounds out S-tier. Kikosho is one of the best Drive Impact counters in the game, and her pressure in the corner is extremely difficult to escape.
A-Tier — Strong and Consistent
- Ken — high damage, reliable anti-airs, great vs. the rest of A-tier
- Rashid — best mobility in the game, forces opponents to play his gameplan
- JP — dominant at neutral with fireballs and clones, weaker up close
- Cammy — fastest walk speed, exceptional pressure, limited reversal options
B-Tier — Viable but Require More Effort
- Ryu — solid fundamentals, punished by the lack of a fast Drive Rush starter
- Marisa — huge damage but telegraphed pressure; matchup-dependent
- Zangief — high execution reward but struggles against full-screen characters
- Lily — strong with good condor wind stacks, weaker getting in
C-Tier — Uphill Battles
- Blanka — gimmicks work at mid-ranks; top-level players rarely get caught
- Dee Jay — decent buttons, lacks a reliable way to close out rounds
- Manon — medal stacking creates feast-or-famine momentum; risky
Verdict
For ranked grinding, Luke or Akuma are the cleanest path to Diamond. If you want to develop strong SF fundamentals, Ken and Rashid will teach you neutral without hiding your weaknesses behind character strength.
Meta is stable. No major patch expected until EVO 2026.
